Sentence Pumper is designed to be used in conjunction with other Xavier products. It contains all the word lists used in these products so that they can be practised in sentence form using 3 different options. "Copy" shows a sentence containing a word from the selected list. The user must type in the sentence correctly. "Memorise" leaves the sentence on screen until the user starts to type. A reveal button shows the sentence again. "Dictate" replaces all the text characters with a symbol, and the user has to listen to the spoken sentence before starting to type. Again the reveal button brings back the sentence. The vowel and tagged masking options can be used to hide all the vowels or user-tagged characters in the sentence.
As tutors can add their own word lists, Sentence Pumper can be used with any literacy software or teaching scheme.
