In Print is a flexible symbol-supported desktop publishing
package for creating books, worksheets, newsletters and posters;
so it is literally making the headlines.
With
all the functions of a symbol processor wrapped up in a DTP
and full symbol functionality alongside freedom of layout,
In Print is an exciting new product for the Inclusion and
SEN market.
What
is different from Version 1?Version 2 now comes with the
Widgit Literacy symbol set in Colour (previously known as
Widgit Rebus).
Most of the future products in the Communicate: series will
add on to In Print 2
The
main differences are the colour features:
All
of the Widgit symbols are now provided in both colour and
black & white. There are nearly 1000 extra
symbols added to the set Several specific features have been
added to make the most of using colour in the program. A single
click can change between colour and black & white, or
vice versa. You do not need to re-create your document. There
is a choice of 5 skin tones. These can be set for the whole
document or for individual symbols. It is possible by highlighting
a particular set of words, to just change the colour state
of the highlighted section. You can now edit the colours of
a symbol when it is in a piece of writing and not just when
it is a "stand alone" graphic. Changes of colour
to symbols attached to words can be stored permanently in
the wordlist. For example you could type the word 'trousers',
use the palette to change these to yellow, change the words
attached to "yellow trousers" and then save this
to the wordlist. So afterwards, typing "yellow trousers"
always produces the correct image.
You
can now change the colours of symbols and metafile pictures
from the normal (Create) toolbar.
