It can be connected to any modern PC or Apple Mac, even while the computer is switched on. It comes with its own software (called USBKeys) which enables you to set up each of the switches as any keypress or mouse click.
Why USB?
The USB port is now the standard method of connecting external devices to a computer. It is very robust, and is standard on all modern PC and Apple Mac computers.
Plug and Play on Windows and Mac
With the USB port, you don’t need to switch the computer off or close any applications when you connect something. The computer will recognise the device automatically.
USBKeys software
USBKeys is a small application that converts switch presses from the USB Switch box into key presses or mouse clicks. It is set up via a single dialog where the user simply chooses which key press or mouse click each of the switches is to generate.
This means the switch box can be used with software that normally expects key presses or mouse clicks - i.e. practically all switch-accessible programs, plus some programs that were not designed for switch access.
Now, USBKeys2 makes the switch box even easier to use!
